| Summary of position |
The primary function of the CME Materials/Engineering Technician 1 is to perform simple, routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Assists higher classified technicians to perform more complex tests. Work is checked in progress and upon completion. This position reports to CME Field and Laboratory Coordinator/Supervisor. |

| Education | High school diploma |
| Experience/Certification | Zero to two years related experience preferred, but none required. ACI/MNDOT certifications preferred, none required. |
| Physical requirements | Work is primarily performed outdoors with indoor laboratory testing as the need arises. Degree of required physical force: Required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. |
