Stork Cellramic, Inc. - Milwaukee, WI

Stork Cellramic, Inc. (a member of the Stork Materials Group of companies) is a high-tech company specializing in the application and finishing of Thermally Sprayed coatings for industrial applications such as printing, converting, gas turbine, food processing and packaging.

A history of serving the printing industries
Stork Cellramic, Inc. was formed in 1986 when Stork® acquired the 17-year old company, Coating Services for Industries, a leader and innovator in the technology of thermal spraying.  CSI had developed and patented several ceramic/DuPont fluoropolymer materials composite coatings, some of which are still in use. CSI developed and patented a process to make one of the first laser engraved anilox rolls in 1978.

In keeping with this pioneering tradition, Stork Cellramic introduced the concept of documented Quality Certification for anilox rolls as well as state-of-the-art MH-YAG engravings in 1996. In addition to remaining a key supplier to the Flexographic printing industry, Stork Cellramic continually develops new coatings, particularly for turbine and other high-tech manufacturers.

    Engraving innovation
Recently Stork Cellramic introduced the HQP Fiber Optic Laser Engraving. Fiber Optic laser engraving technology of anilox rolls has the ability to produce high line screen engravings without the undesirable cell characteristics of the YAG laser engravings and it does it consistently. The fiber optic laser engraves cells with a high thermal component creating a vitrified, almost glasslike cell inner lining. The smooth walls and defined cells provide a better ink release, easier cleaning, less plugging and improved press room efficiency. High line screen anilox rolls are a must for the high line screen plates being printed today.

    Anilox and coating technologies
Stork Cellramic is a leading manufacturer of anilox rolls, and specializes in the resurfacing of worn anilox, idler and water rolls, and the application of engineered coatings for industrial components. Stork Cellramic technical services feature anilox roll engravings custom-tailored to perform in challenging metering situations, including UV flexo, fine process and heavy adhesive applications.

Utilizing robotics, plasma spray, wire arc, and HVOF processes, we apply advanced thermal spray coatings to machine components. Our coatings are engineered to improve equipment performance; the quality of our coatings is confirmed by our in-house metallographic analysis laboratory.
