Cleveland Rocks: Stork Herron tests concert stage equipment

CLEVELAND, OH - February 24, 2005

Getting sound across an auditorium isn’t as simple as turning the dial all the way to 10; a high end production requires complicated systems of speakers and amplifiers that are installed at various heights around the hall to achieve the right volume and technical quality.

Through the end of February, Stork Herron of Cleveland will be performing a series of static load tests on frames that suspend amplifiers and amplifier racks over a crowd. Stork Herron is partnering with 8th Day Sound, a concert production company, to meet the their insurance carrier’s criteria for overhead equipment, which has its own set of specialized safety standards.

8th Day Sound produces concert events for such notable acts as Prince, Barry Manilow and Earth, Wind & Fire.
