Architectural magazine features SMT
UNITED STATES - January/February, 2005
National publication Architectural Products featured Stork Twin City Testing engineers in its January/February issue in an article titled, "Keeping Noise at Bay." The article, part of the bimonthly's Applied Science section, examined the growing trend of acoustic properties testing as part of the manufacturing and construction process around the county.
"Some multifamily projects have the acoustical specs written right into them now," Stork TCT engineer Richard Thomalla is quoted as saying. The full-page feature looks into this new construction focus and outlines the ratings system that regulates windows for their acoustic properties, including ASTM and WDMA standards in the industry. The article goes on to list Stork TCT as a primary resource for manufacturers, builders, architects and designers to evaluate windows for sound transmission—as well as energy efficiency, air & water infiltration, wind load and impact cycling, structural qualities, and environmental simulation.
