Stork's chemical processing capabilities range from passivation to pre-penetrant etch, macro etch, and alkaline-cleaning. In each instance, the chemical process performed has been developed to meet various engineering requirements critical to a product’s intended function.

Our staff receive advanced training in technique and in operating and controlling processing solutions. Many aspects of the laboratory are automated and equipped with controls that minimize variations in the process.

Some of the applications for chemical processing include: 

• Pre-penetrant etching of titanium, aluminum, magnesium, stainless steels, nickel-based alloys;
• Macro etching of super nickel and titanium alloys for grain-size measurements and defect solutions;
• Passivation of stainless steels for corrosion resistance;
• Alkaline cleaning for non-ferrous materials.
