HALT/HASS Testing

HALT/HASS stands for Highly Accelerated Life Testing/Highly Accelerated Stress Screening. HALT/HASS—a blue steel chamber about the size of a small room—is a critical tool for testing a product’s reliability and maturity. Stork engineers have substantially reduced research and development costs in time and labor for countless clients with HALT/HASS services.  It is a proven method of shortening the time-to-market period. Our highly-trained scientists have the expertise and the training needed to apply the many benefits of HALT/HASS testing—as well as those of all our specialized instrumentation and equipment—to your specific product or process.

The HALT/HASS is capable of combining high-rate thermal cycling with tri-axial random vibration at six degrees of freedom (6 DoF), allowing it to closely replicate real environmental conditions your product may endure.

Stork offers its clients the HALT/HASS for a variety of testing applications, including evaluation of a product design before it enters production phase. It is an invaluable tool for increasing a product’s Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF); scientists at Stork have recorded increases from 5 to 1000 times original MTBF with strategic use of the HALT/HASS.
