Description of operational unit

Stork Herron Testing Laboratories, Inc. is a member of the Stork Materials Technology (SMT) group of companies.

Founded in 1911, Stork Herron provides chemical analysis, mechanical and metallurgical testing, NDT, product evaluation and failure analysis to customers in the aerospace, power generation, automotive and other industrial markets.

Summary of position We are seeking an engineer to perform root cause failure analysis on a broad range of components in support of automotive, aerospace, materials processing, electronics and others markets.
Essential duties/ responsibilities
  • Perform root cause failure analysis on projects as assigned.
  • Create comprehensive technical reports which present and discuss findings from analytical work.
  • Communicate with client regarding project quotations, status of work and interpretation of results.
Education B.S. Degree in Metallurgy or Material Science, M.S. preferred.
Experience

5+ year(s) experience in the essential duties/responsibilities listed above.

Additional knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, and licenses
  • Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of standard analytical techniques.
Physical requirements
Work is performed in normal office environment. Degree of required physical force: Light <20 lbs. of force. Frequency of required physical force: Occasional (moderate).
