Stork acquires metallurgical testing activities of Detroit Testing Laboratory, Inc., Detroit, Michigan
DETROIT, MI—November 14, 2006
Stork Materials Technology is pleased to announce the acquisition of the metallurgical testing activities of Detroit Testing Laboratory, Inc. (DTL) based in Detroit, Michigan. The metallurgical laboratory of DTL has provided testing services for the primary metals and automotive industries since 1903 and their capabilities include Electron Microscopy, Mechanical Testing, Metals Chemistry, and Microstructure Evaluation, as well as Automotive Product Testing.
The related business, employees and assets will be fully integrated into Stork Climax Research Services, Inc. at its Wixom facility. Charles Noall, Chief Executive Officer for Stork Materials Technology, said, "Stork CRS and the DTL metallurgical department have provided materials, metals, and product testing to industries in the region for many years, particularly the automotive sector. The specialized expertise and resources of DTL will contribute to a strengthened position for Stork Materials Technology and enhance the range of services we're able to offer to our automotive industry clients and other customers."
