Dynamics Testing
|
Stork operates four dynamics testing facilities―Pico Rivera and San Clemente, California and Jupiter, Florida, as well as St. Paul, Minnesota―to measure and evaluate the responses of your parts or systems to dynamic forces they encounter. We perform vibration, acceleration and shock testing to military, aerospace, medical, automotive, and commercial specifications. This testing can be performed individually or in combination with temperature cycling, pressure and hydraulic/pneumatic flow. Our dynamics testing services include: Vibration. (all facilities) Stork has virtually total dynamics capability. Our multi-shaker facilities are comprised of both electrodynamic and hydrodynamic systems. Stork East-West Technology’s 40,000 force-pound electrodynamic shaker system includes an Unholtz Dickie T-4000 shaker combined with a 60-inch by 60-inch bearing slip table mounted on an integrated unibase. Among Stork EWT’s resources is a 48-inch Magnesium Head Expander to accommodate larger test items in the vertical axis. This equipment, combined with our 20-foot overhead clearance, allows the testing of large/tall items with high overturning movements. Stork EWT recently acquired an m+p international 64-channel, digital dynamics control system for our electrodynamic and hydrodynamic shakers. All Stork Dynamics Testing facilities help companies meet the latest Mil-Spec requirements, including:
Stork facilities also offer:
Acceleration. Stork labs operate centrifuges of various sizes and load capacities with arm lengths ranging up to 28 feet (Stork Garwood Laboratories in Pico Rivera) and 30 feet (Stork EWT). These facilities’ centrifuges are complemented by full instrumentation and power slip rings with video capability available. Shock. (all facilities) Drop machines, pulse synthesis tables, and other impact equipment available at Stork labs readily accommodate test specimens of various sizes, applying half sine, sawtooth, and square wave forces up to 1,000 g's at Stork Garwood Laboratories and 50,000 g's at Stork EWT with durations ranging from 1 to several hundred milliseconds. Stork experts conduct shock testing on our U. S. Navy-approved, MIL-S-901D, lightweight, hammer shock machines (Pico Rivera, CA; Jupiter, FL) in accordance with MIL-STD-810F or individual customer requirements. Stork labs also feature:
Additionally, Stork EWT and Stork Garwood Laboratories conduct various types of high level shock response spectrum simulation (pyrotechnic shock), e. g., (a) shaker-digital control; (b) metal-to-metal impact; (c) high-velocity pneumatically driven. Results can be presented in formats of frequency vs. g level or as time history plots and can be analyzed for various “Q” values. Pyrotechnic Shock Simulation. (Pico Rivera, CA and Jupiter, FL) Stork labs are experienced in multiple methods of producing pyrotechnic shock. Your product can be tested to 50,000 g's, and Stork experts can also provide curve shaping. Field Data Acquisition. The experts at Stork EWT can provide field data acquisition of dynamic effects Structural/Fatigue. Stork EWT has many different load frames and platforms to simulate single axial static, multi axial static or dynamic load conditions.
Rotating Load Simulations. Stork EWT has a variety of fixed and variable speed drive systems:
